FC Barcelona might be losing one of the most talented young players in the world ahead of the summer transfer window deadline.

Barca manager Xavi Hernandez will not stop the departure of star forward Ansu Fati from the defending La Liga champions as long as he can return to the club at some point in the future.

This could only be achieved if the 20-year-old is sent out via a loan or if Barcelona has a buyback option if they deal him in a permanent transfer.

Xavi sees Fati as an important player for the future but not on his short-term plans. The Barcelona boss was previously non-committal when asked about the future of the Guinea-Bissau native earlier this month.

Now a naturalized Spanish citizen, Fati is listening to offers from several clubs who might be interested in the dynamic youngster.

Fati was considered one of the best young talents in Spanish and world football but struggled with several injuries from 2020 to 2022.

After finally being healthy for the 2022-23 season, he did not have quite the same level of magic on the field.

Several Premier League clubs interested

London clubs Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea are the frontrunners in securing Fati's signature, which will likely come via loan.

The Spurs are looking for a viable replacement for striker Harry Kane, while Chelsea sees Fati as a vital piece while undergoing their rebuild.
