The Indianapolis Colts have given Jonathan Taylor until Tuesday, August 29, to find a new NFL home.

The 24-year-old running back was granted permission to seek a trade earlier this week. However, the Colts do not plan to wait forever and need to know if any interested team would be willing to give in to their demands, according to Stephen Holder of ESPN.

The scribe added that at least six teams have already inquired about the 2021 Pro Bowler. Of those teams, two have allegedly already made pitches.

Considering Jonathan Taylor trade talks have not flourished, it appears to hint that the offers pitched by the unnamed NFL teams are not what Indianapolis is asking for, NBC Sports suggested.

Hence, Tuesday will be an important day for the Colts and Taylor. Aside from the trade deadline set by the Colts for the former Wisconsin Badger, Indianapolis will also have to decide on activating players who are physically unable to perform.

They also have to deal with the non-football injury/illness lists or risk having these players miss at least the first four games of the regular season.

That includes Taylor, who underwent ankle surgery in January, forcing him to miss six games in the last NFL season.

The 2021 NFL rushing yards leader has yet to practice since reporting to training camp back in July. He remains on the PUP list with his ankle still not at 100% health, ESPN reported.

It will be an interesting next couple of days with Taylor standing pat on wanting out of Indianapolis, according to multiple sources. Also, the Colts do not appear to be open to budge on a contract extension.
