Team USA and Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr has declared his main man for the squad that will be competing in the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup.

The 57-year-old tactician said that Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards will be the one carrying the heavy load for the Americans in the international tournament, which will be held from August 25 to September 10 primarily in the Philippines, with some games in Indonesia and Japan.

"He's unquestionably the guy. You can see he knows it. But now the team knows it, and I think the fans see it," Kerr said about the 22-year-old.

The four-time NBA champion coach added that Edwards genuinely believes he's the best player in the gym every single night, being such a dynamic young player. Kerr also thinks that the top overall pick of the 2020 NBA Draft is taking a leap at the moment.

Edwards made his first NBA All Star team in 2021, solidifying himself as one of the rising stars of the league.
