Atlanta Hawks sharpshooter Kyle Korver re-wrote the NBA record book when he broke the 17-year record of Dana Barros of consecutive games with a 3-pointer with his 90th straight game with a triple during the Hawks' win over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday night.

Korver made the record-breaking achievement during the first quarter, finally pulling away from Barros who made the previous record from 1994 to 1996. ''It feels good, I'm glad it's done'' Korver told Yahoo! Sports after the game. ''My naps the last couple (game days) haven't been very solid. I'm the product of good team basketball, of setting screens and (getting) good passes and floor spacing and all of that.

''There's a lot of thanks to go around ... players who aren't here, coaches who aren't here this year and this group in here. I just said, 'Thank you.'"

Korver scored 10 points and sank two out of three 3-point attempts during the game. He has made 47 percent of his 3-point shots (235 of 502) during the streak.

More importantly, the win gave Atlanta a 11-10 record which puts them at solo third place in the woeful Eastern Conference. Only the two-time defending NBA champions Miami Heat, the Hawks and conference leader Indiana Pacers have a winning record in the East.

Korver is in his 11th year in the league after being picked by the New Jersey (now Brooklyn) Nets in the second round of the 2003 draft. He was traded to the Philadelphia 76ers where he played his first five seasons. He has also played for the Utah Jazz and Chicago Bulls.
