Senegalese striker Sadio Mane is set to leave the European football competition as he finalizes a deal to join the Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr.
Al-Nassr will reportedly pay a $30 million transfer fee to Bayern Munich, while Mane will receive a weekly wage of about $830,000 for the next four years, per Sky Sports.
The 31-year-old has completed the required medical tests in Dubai, and documents are now being prepared to make the transfer official, according to Italian football journalist Fabrizio Romano.
Mane spent the 2022-23 season with German club Bayern Munich, where he was a little bit underwhelming compared to the prior six seasons he spent at Premier League club Liverpool, where he established himself as one of the world's best strikers and one of the greatest African players of all-time.
With the deal, the Saudi Professional League has landed another world-class player. Cristiano Ronaldo became the first big name to take his talents to the oil-rich kingdom when he signed for Al-Nassr at the end of 2022.
Sadio Mane joins big names who are Saudi Arabia-bound
This summer, a plethora of big names followed the Portuguese legend to the desert, including former Real Madrid teammate Karim Benzema, N'Golo Kante, Roberto Firmino, Jordan Henderson, Riyad Mahrez, Ruben Neves, Edouard Mendy, and many more.
Mane joins Ronaldo as players coming from Europe in the Riyadh-based Al-Nassr, which also includes midfielder Seko Fofana, left-back Alex Telles, and defensive midfielder Marcelo Brozović, who was the captain of Inter Milan during their UEFA Champions League final appearance against Manchester City last June.
