Acquiring Dembele is one of the French club's contingency plans for superstar Kylian Mbappe's imminent departure this summer.
Previous reports stated that PSG was willing to activate Dembele's $55 million release clause to proceed with the transfer, and it was up to the player to say yes or no.
The release clause will double to $110 million after July 31, while Dembele's contract with Barcelona runs until June 2024.
The talented winger recently scored the opener for Barcelona during their 3-0 preseason victory against eternal rivals Real Madrid, held at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, last night as part of their United States tour.

Dembele's time with Barcelona filled with multiple injuries
Dembele arrived in Barcelona in 2017, with the Spanish club paying nearly $160 million in total, including add-ons to Borussia Dortmund. At the time of the transfer, he was the joint second most expensive player ever with Paul Pogba.
However, the French's international's spell with the club has been marred by multiple injuries. The 26-year-old managed to start in only 36% of the games possible since his arrival.
Dembele has missed 119 of 302 games for the past six seasons, many of them crucial matches due to numerous injuries in his muscles, hamstring, among many others.
