Chinese shoe brand PEAK has unveiled a sharp, futuristic-looking lifestyle shoe for Golden State Warriors forward Andrew Wiggins.
The sneakers have a low-top design with glaring features such as an oblong reminiscent of an eye and a huge PEAK emblem on the heel. It resembles popular shoes such as the Adidas Yeezy, Nike Kobe line, and some New Balance models, but with a fresh twist.
The shoe is still different from what the 6-foot-7 forward will wear on the court, as Wiggins will rock the performance-optimized PEAK AW2 model on the hardwood.
Andrew Wiggins - PEAK's most notable basketball player
Considered the Warriors' second-best player during their championship run in 2022, Wiggins is also the most prominent basketball player for the Chinese shoe and apparel company.
The 28-year-old joined PEAK in 2020. The brand previously had sponsorship deals with Tony Parker, Dwight Howard, and Lou Williams in the past few years.
The Golden State Warriors are among the few teams wherein Nike does not have a stronghold.
They were the only NBA team without a Nike athlete on its starting line-up last season. Wiggins is with PEAK, and Stephen Curry is with Under Armour under his own Curry Brand.
Klay Thompson and Kevon Looney have sponsorship deals with Chinese shoe brand ANTA, while Draymond Green wears Converse, which is technically a subsidiary of Nike but does not bear the Swoosh logo.
