Long-time Reds Jordan Henderson is set to take on a new chapter in his football career as he reportedly agreed to join fellow Liverpool hero Steven Gerrard in Saudi Arabia.
Football insider Fabrizio Romano revealed that although Liverpool are yet to receive an offer from Al Ettifaq for Henderson, a verbal agreement between the English player and the Arabian club has been reached.
"BREAKING: Jordan Henderson has accepted Al Ettifaq proposal. There's verbal agreement in principle. Contract agreed," Romano wrote on Twitter.
"Deal now depends on Liverpool and Al Ettifaq discussing on the fee, no chance to let him leave for free."
Romano added that manager Jurgen Klopp gave Henderson the green light to join the Arabian club, who sealed the signature of Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard earlier this month.

Henderson and Gerrard played together for Anfield for five years.
According to reports, the deal could more than double the 33-year-old's salary in the Premier League. He is set to earn $900,000 a week, a far cry from the $262,000 he makes now.
Klopp makes Henderson's transfer easy
While it hurts to see the man go, after 12 years and being an integral part of the team's success, Klopp has something prepared.
The team currently has nine midfielders, including Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai, who were bought for £35m and £60m, respectively.
This means Klopp has to let go of at least one, and Henderson appears to be the expendable one, being one of the older players in the lineup.
