Former NBA point guard Jeff Teague shared a story about a feud between him and Hall-of-Famer Tracy McGrady during the 2011-12 NBA season while they were still playing for the Atlanta Hawks.
McGrady had just signed a one-year, minimum deal with Atlanta in his final full NBA stint, while Teague was about to enter his third NBA season and was the team's starting point guard.
Teague bared that the former Magic and Rockets legend was not impressed with his role as a starter, calling him "trash."
"He cold, but he don't like me, I don't like him either. I was in my third year, I was starting point guard, he came to our team. And he was really pissed that I was starting," the 35-year-old said.
Teague responded by talking trash with McGrady during practice, saying he was not at the same level as his generational peers, including Kobe Bryant and LeBron James.
T-Mac responded to the trash talk by asking, "N***a, who the f**k are you?," as recalled by Teague.
The young starter wanted to fight McGrady, but teammate Marvin Williams advised Teague that the seven-time All-Star would beat him up, preventing a brawl.
Tracy McGrady disapproves of Jeff Teague's story
The 44-year-old Hall-of-Famer responded on social media, seemingly disliking the story.
"N***as say anything on these podcast smfh," McGrady said about the clip on Instagram.
Teague answered by saying, "lol yea ok."
