UFC Middleweight Champion Israel Adesanya has fired another salvo towards Dricus Du Plessis' way as the racially charged verbal altercation between the two heats up.
The two met face to face in the octagon last UFC 290 when Israel Adesanya climbed up to stare down and have an exchange with Du Plessis, who had just won against Robert Whittaker.
The two have been shading each other for the past year in what many described as racially charged.
A compilation video is making the rounds on Twitter suggesting that South African Du Plessis started everything, referring to Adesanya as a non-African.
The Stylebender came across that clip and warned that he would light him up.
He also explained that he was only targeting Du Plessis because the current #1 in the UFC middleweight rankings offended him and other Africans first.
"Don't back play the victim...stand on your original statement," Adesanya wrote on Twitter.
"Say it with yo chest nigga!! I never discredited you as a real African; you tried to discredit 3 Real African UFC Champions. You started this, and I will finish this! That's not a threat; that's a promise. Gbo gbo yin ma ku! #oloriburuku #oyinboboy #UFC293
What did Du Plessis say?
In the clip, Du Plessis was heard saying that Adesanya is not a real African and is more like a Kiwi, having been raised in New Zealand.
Du Plessis earlier called the Nigerian-born kickboxing fighter a clown for climbing in the octagon.
Before that, Adesanya called him his "South African brother" and explained in MMA Hour that he never questioned his ethnicity.
Right now, the two's rivalry remains verbal as there's no confirmation yet from UFC president Dana White whether they will meet in the octagon or not.
