"It is an honor for me to be here, to be in the country of my origin, to be with my family and to see the people out there. They have shown me some love," Mbappe said after meeting Cameroon Prime Minister Joseph Dion Ngute on Friday.
Hundreds of fans wearing Mbappe's PSG jersey lined up at the airport in the capital Yaounde, where the 24-year-old landed last Thursday.
"I hope to come back soon, but I'm really happy to be here. Thank you for everything," the forward added.
Mbappe's itinerary for his visit included a basketball game with two-time NBA All-Star Joakim Noah alongside children from the place.

Kylian Mbappe treated like head of state
Mbappe traveled on Saturday to the economic capital of the country, Douala, where his father was based. The elder Mbappe left the country at a young age to pursue better opportunities in France.
The 2022 FIFA World Cup topscorer was treated like royalty in the country, moving around using an armored tank and being escorted by the country's military force.
The France national team captain also visited a school in which his Inspired by KM charity is financing its renovation.
Mbappe ducked questions about the saga he is currently embroiled in amid rumors of a Real Madrid move and his refusal to extend his PSG contract.
"I want to take the maximum opportunity of my holidays to enjoy with Cameroonians," the superstar said when asked about the topic.
