UFC president Dana White confirmed the Stipe Miocic-Jon Jones fight for UFC 295, one battle that fans and fighters analyzed long before the green light was given.

Jones is a future Hall of Fame inductee who dominated the lightweight. He joined the Heavyweight division and beat Ciryl Gane in March this year.

Miocic, on the other hand, stepped away from the octagon after losing to Francis Ngannou in 2021.

Who is going to come out on top? There are many factors to consider, but for Daniel Cormier, Jones' former rival, the outcome will be based on how ready the two fighters are.

He specifically puts into question Miocic's readiness since he last fought two years ago, while Jon Jones is a lot heavier these days because of the requirements of a heavyweight fighter.

Factor, too, for Miocic, is his age.

"You'll be fighting Stipe, he'll throw something and he'll land and you're' like how did he get to me? He is fast, and if he's still fast, he can get the job done," Cormier said on his Youtube channel.

"But if he's slowed down, he's almost 41 years old I think, if he's slowed down, even a little bit, it could be a problem."

Is Jones taking the fight lightly?

The build-up to the fight has always been intense, but it looks like Jones does not feel the same way.

The 35-year-old fighter was spotted partying in Las Vegas right after the announcement of his fight against Miocic, and White does not think that is a great decision for him.

"I always say this, more than 12 hours in Vegas is probably not a good idea for Jon," White commented.

"Listen, Jon has done very well for himself, he's made it through a lot of s***. I don't know whose idea it was to keep Jon here for days."

Well, UFC 295 will happen in November this year. Jones has more time for preparation.
