The verbal feud between Rio Ferdinand and Jamie Carragher has entered another chapter as the former unleashed on the Liverpool legend for his silence on Steven Gerrard's move to Saudi Arabia.
The issue of Premier League players, and now managers, transferring to Saudi Arabia to play in its top-flight football league have many pundits feeling wary, Carragher included.
The latest to be pirated is Liverpool legend Gerrard who signed with Al Ettifaq.
Ferdinand always says that he has no issues with footballers moving to the West Asian country, but he could not take it that those who have always been loud about the issue suddenly fell silent when it comes to Gerrard.
"Jamie, Jamie Carragher, where are you man?" Ferdinand began in the video.
"I heard a lot of talk, a lot of negativity about Saudi. 'Oh Bernardo Silva, I can't believe it, it's a disgrace, it needs investigating...Steven Gerrard's gone. You used to carry his boots and his bags at Anfield to games. Your boy's gone over there, I've not heard a peep out of you."
The two England teammates engaged in a verbal dispute last May when Carragher called Ferdinand a clown after debating an overturned goal in a Champions League game.
Carragher replies, says Qatar is Rio's paymaster
Ferdinand showed support for Qatar during the holding of the 2022 FIFA World Cup as many pundits, including his employer BBC, accused the host of human rights violations.
Carragher turned to that incident as a reply to Ferdinand's tirade. He wrote on Twitter:
"Never criticised Silva, [Karim] Benzema, [Ruben] Neves or SG [Gerrard], I don't like Saudi trying to buy football like they have Golf. I knew you'd be all over it Rio, like you were in Qatar!"
