The Orlando Magic waived Bol after he spent the last one-and-a-half seasons with the team. He played 70 games for them in 2022-23, starting in 33. They failed to qualify for the postseason for the third consecutive year.
One of the tallest players in the league, the 7-foot-2 was drafted by the Miami Heat as the 44th overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft. He was traded immediately to the Denver Nuggets, where he spent the first two and a half seasons with the team before being dealt to the Magic in January 2022.
The 23-year-old signed a two-year contract worth $4.4 million with the Magic last summer, but the 2023-24 season was a team option, and the franchise did not exercise it.
The South Sudanese-American averaged career-highs in almost every aspect of his game last season, putting up 9.1 points, 5.8 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1.2 blocks in 21.5 minutes per game.
Bol is the son of the late former NBA player Manute Bol, who has the second-highest career average for blocks per game with 3.34.

Phoenix surrounds its core with talent
The Suns' projected starting five salaries are already above the league's luxury tax threshold, and they are looking for cheap, quality players to fill out their roster.
They have recently signed free agents Keita Bates-Diop, Yuta Watanabe, and Eric Gordon to contribute to their anticipated 2023-24 campaign.
