Green Bay Packers fans who want to reminisce over the good old days could find solace in the show "Hard Knocks" if what team president Mark Murphy said is true.
"Hard Knocks" features NFL teams who did not make the playoffs two years in a row. The Packers do not qualify for that.
However, one episode might still be about the Wisconsin-based team if the New York Jets are selected for having players who used to play for them.
There is no confirmation yet from the NFL whether the Jets have been selected for the new "Hard Knocks" episode, but Packers president Mark Murphy might have given followers an obvious clue.
"The best thing to do if you don't want to be on 'Hard Knocks' is to make the playoffs every year," Murphy wrote on the Packers website when asked by a fan about the show.
"The league (and HBO) can only require a team to appear on 'Hard Knocks' if they have failed to make the playoffs two years in a row. I'm anxious to see the Jets and the many ex-Packers on 'Hard Knocks' this summer - should be very entertaining."
Is Aaron Rodgers to appear?
Of course, the biggest name fans are waiting to see is Aaron Rodgers, who was traded to the Jets in April.
He spent 17 years with the Packers and helped them win the Super Bowl XLV. He also won the Super Bowl MVP that season alongside four NFL MVPs and 10 Pro Bowl Appearances.
Other former Packers now strutting their stuff for the Jets are quarterback Tim Boyle, strong safety Adrian Amos, Allen Lazard, Malik Taylor, and Randall Cobb, who played receivers, and offensive linemen Billy Turner and Adam Pankey.
