ESPN reporting with @malikaandrews: Free agent Bruce Brown has agreed on a two-year, $45M deal with the Indiana Pacers, his agents Ty Sullivan and Steven Heumann of @CAASports tell ESPN. Denver — limited in what it could pay — loses a key piece to its repeat hopes.

Brown Jr. was integral to the Denver Nuggets squad that recently won the 2023 NBA Championship. His key baskets, hustle, and intangibles helped the franchise capture its first title in 47 seasons in the league.
During the Nuggets' championship parade two weeks ago, head coach Michael Malone declared that the serviceable guard was not going anywhere.
However, with his stellar play in the postseason, the 6-foot-4 guard's stock has certainly risen, and other teams could afford to give him a hefty payday.
Brown would only make about $8 million if he stayed with the defending champions. The amount is the most that the Nuggets could give to Brown Jr., which is a far cry from the lucrative salary the Pacers will give.

Bruce Brown Will Earn More in One Season Than His Whole Career Combined
In his new deal, Brown Jr. is set to earn an average of $22.5 million annually, a career-high by a significant margin.
So far, the 26-year-old guard has earned $15.1 million in total in his five-year NBA career, as per Bobby Marks of ESPN.
During the Nuggets' 2022-23 title-winning campaign, Brown received $6.5 million in salary, nearly half of his total NBA career earnings.
The Detroit Pistons drafted Brown as the 42nd overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft.
