The Chicago Bulls are expected to keep center Nikola Vucevic in a three-year deal worth $60 million, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium.

The Philadephia 76ers drafted the 32-year-old Montenegrin as the 16th overall pick in 2011, and he spent his rookie year in the City of Brotherly Love.

Before his sophomore season, Vucevic was dealt to the Orlando Magic, where he has spent the majority of his career so far. He was named an All-Star in 2019 and 2021.

Shortly after appearing as a reserve center in the 2021 NBA All-Star Game, the Magic parted ways with Vucevic after nine years, shipping him to the Chicago Bulls two weeks after the exhibition game.

Nikola Vucevic Has Been Reliable For The Bulls

For the past two and a half seasons in the Windy City, the Montenegrin has been a reliable option at the center position for Chicago, averaging 18.2 points, 11.1 rebounds on 49% shooting on the field.

He has quickly become the all-time leader in three-pointers made by a center for the Bulls franchise in a short period.

The 6-foot-10 center is also the third most prolific three-point shooting center in NBA history, behind Minnesota Timberwolves' Karl Anthony-Towns and Milwaukee Bucks' Brook Lopez, an impending free agent.

Vucevic's new deal enabled the Bulls to go $27 million under the luxury tax threshold, giving them ample salary cap space to attract and acquire more talents going into the 2023-24 NBA season.
