The Golden State Warriors are expected to keep one of their core players for the foreseeable future.

Draymond Green, the defensive anchor during their multiple championship runs, is looking to stay in Golden State in a three-year deal that lines up with the remaining years of Stephen Curry's contract. The value of the deal is yet to be finalized.

Should the deal go through, both Curry's and Green's contracts will expire in 2026.

Curry inked a four-year contract extension worth $215 million in the summer of 2021, which took effect during the 2022-23 season. He became the first player in NBA history to sign two $200 million contracts.

Last week, Green opted out of the final year of his contract worth $27.5 million for the 2023-24 season.

Multiple Rivals Interested in Draymond Green

Before acquiring Marcus Smart from the Boston Celtics in a three-team trade last week, the Memphis Grizzlies were prepared to pursue Green.

The franchise gained a great amount of respect for the dynamic Warriors forward after battling against him in the postseason in 2022 and in the play-in tournament the year before. Memphis has since moved on from the pursuit after acquiring Smart.

The Sacramento Kings is also rumored to propose a gargantuan deal for Green that would "blow Golden State's offer out of the water."

The Kings recently faced off in the postseason against the Warriors in a seven-game first-round series, which saw Golden State winning the decisive game in Sacramento's home court.
