The Golden State Warriors and the Washington Wizards are finalizing a deal that would send Chris Paul to Golden State in exchange for Jordan Poole.
Golden State will also include a protected first-round pick in 2030, a second-round pick in 2027, and 2022 second-round pick Ryan Rollins alongside their young star in the package.
Paul was recently shipped to the Wizards a few days ago as part of the Bradley Beal trade that sent the shooting guard to the Phoenix Suns.
Widely regarded as one of the greatest point guards of all time, Paul will be entering his 19th season in the NBA, and he will be playing with fellow all-time great Stephen Curry in the same position if he doesn't get traded again.
It was previously reported that Phoenix would waive the 38-year-old, and he plans to play for several more years, looking to help a championship contender.
Paul has a lot of history with the Warriors, facing off against the squad multiple times in the playoffs as a member of the Los Angeles Clippers and Houston Rockets.
Jordan Poole Trade, First Move of New Warriors GM
Letting go of the 24-year-old Poole is the first transaction of new Warriors general manager Mike Dunleavy Jr., who was officially appointed a week ago.
Dunleavy Jr. notably said a few days ago that he plans to have Poole around in San Francisco for the duration of his contract, which would expire four years from now.
However, in doing the contrary less than a week after, anything that the new Warriors' top brass would say from now on must be taken with a grain of salt.
