The Barclays Center came to a halt for a moment Sunday after Washington Mystics' up-and-coming star Shakira Austin fell and rolled on the floor for an apparent injury.
The 22-year-old was seen dribbling the ball to the Mystics' side of the court when she suddenly seemed to have tripped and held on to her left hip.
No, no, no. Shakira Austin jumps a crosscourt pass, but goes down awkwardly trying to corral it. She goes down grabbing her knee right in front of Sandy Brondello, who was already reaching down to console her while the play was still live. She was carried off the court and was immediately taken to the locker room for what could be a left hamstring injury.

Austin concluded the game after playing for 22 minutes. She finished with six points, five rebounds, one steal, and one block. Austin is making a leap this season after being selected to the All-Rookie Team of 2022. She is averaging 11.8 points this season, along with eight RPH, one APG, and one BPG.
Update on Austin's injury
Kareem Copeland of the Washington Post, quoting Mystics coach Eric Thibault, confirmed that Austin suffered from a left hip strain. Another reporter, Tyler Byrum of NBCS Washington, provided a positive update regarding Austin's injury.

"Good news (if there is any) for an injury, Shakira Austin was grabbing her upper hamstring - not her knee - when she went down. Team has labeled it as a hip injury," he wrote on Twitter.
The team also pulled up for Austin, although they came up short in the end.
