Future Hall-of-Fame point guard Chris Paul revealed how he learned he would be suiting up with the team that dealt him a lot of playoff losses.
The 38-year-old was traded to the Golden State Warriors before the NBA Draft yesterday, and it was his son who told him about the blockbuster deal.
"I was at my gym here in Winston playing pickup hooping. After the game... little Chris came up to me & told me," he said in an interview.
When asked about what he felt then, Paul said that he was excited to get a chance to play for a franchise like Golden State, noting their great players.
Paul also said that "it's crazy how life comes full circle" after competing against the franchise for the past decade, but he is willing to take whatever opportunity that will give him a chance to win.
In a separate interview, the new Warriors acquisition mentioned that he had already talked to Warriors superstar Stephen Curry, stating that the conversation went "good."

Bay Area journalist Marcus Thompson said that the Golden State's acquisition of Paul is not part of a bigger move and that the Hall-of-Fame point guard will be playing for the team.
Paul is entering the third year of a four-year deal he signed with Phoenix worth $120 million in 2021. He is set to make $30.8 million for the next two seasons.
