Manchester United has made another attempt to get the services of Mason Mount after a failed first try, and this time, a personal agreement with the player has been sealed.
Football journalist Fabrizio Romano reported that the two parties agreed on a personal term "100 percent" and that the ball is now in Chelsea's court.
He added that the Red Devils want a quick resolution in this tug-of-war over the 24-year-old midfielder, and it will no longer offer any "crazy bids."
Manchester United previously offered $40 million to sign Mount from the Blues as his contract expires next summer.
However, this was rejected by Chelsea, saying Mount is worth more.
Red Devils' persistence on Mount
Manchester United believes that Mount himself wants to depart from Stamford Bridge, and this means it is either Chelsea sell him this summer or see him walk away for nothing next season.
It is believed that Mount became unhappy with his wage situation with his boyhood club, prompting him to ask to be released.
Mount hired a new agent in Neil Fewings of Wasserman to iron out his salary issues. However, nothing happened.
Now, the representative reportedly told the Chelsea board to look at the Manchester United offer so they can now both move on.
It is reported that Chelsea's asking price for Mount was $89 million.
Mount is one of the best players out of Chelsea's academy. He has appeared 129 times for the Blue and scored 27 goals since 2017.
