The three-team trade between the Boston Celtics, Washington Wizards, and Los Angeles Clippers involving several players and a draft pick has collapsed, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
Boston was set to acquire big man Kristaps Porzingis, while Washington would receive Marcus Morris, Danilo Galinari, Amir Coffey, and this draft's 30th pick.
The Los Angeles Clippers would have gotten reigning NBA Sixth Man of the Year Malcolm Brogdon in the transaction.
However, the Clippers raised concerns over the health status of Brogdon, who confirmed that he has a partial tendon tear on his right elbow.
"It's a partial tear of a tendon, I don't know the name of the tendon but it's coming out of my elbow. Unfortunately, you use it a lot to shoot. So, when I'm shooting, I'm having a lot of pain," Brogdon said after the Celtics' Game 7 loss in the Eastern Conference Finals against the Miami Heat.
Direct Wizards-Celtics Transaction Still on the Table
The Celtics and Wizards are still keen to complete the deal without the Clippers, as per Wojnarowski.
Boston did not want to waste time and pivoted away from the deal after the Clippers raised their concerns.
The Wizards have until midnight to meet the deadline for Porzingis' player option worth $36 million, and the two sides are working to complete the deal on time.
Porzingis will be a free agent if he opts out of his player option.
