The Golden State Warriors are headed for an eventful offseason following their first playoff exit in the Western Conference since 2014 and the departure of longtime general manager Bob Myers.
Now, they are looking to trade one of their young prospects, Jonathan Kuminga.
Selected as the 7th overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, the Congolese forward is rumored to be shipped out by the Warriors in exchange for a high pick in the upcoming draft next week, according to NBA draft analyst and ESPN insider Jonathan Givony.

Jonathan Kuminga Disgruntled With Lack of Playing Time
The 6-foot-7 wing saw limited action in the 2023 NBA Playoffs during the Warriors' first-round series against the Sacramento Kings and the Western Conference Semifinals against the Los Angeles Lakers.
Kuminga did not play entirely in three of Golden State's 13 playoff games this year. He only played more than ten minutes once during Game 3 of the first round.
During the Warriors' last three games against the Lakers, Kuminga played a total of 6 minutes and 9 seconds.
The Athletic's Shams Charania and Anthony Slater previously reported after the Warriors' elimination that the team and Kuminga's representatives are set to discuss the lottery pick's future this summer.
What Kerr did to Kuminga this year, and particularly the postseason, was egregious. I don’t blame him for wanting to play for a Head Coach who actually believes in him. Kuminga’s an all-worldly talent. Myers sees that. Wish Kerr saw the same.

The franchise would have to decide if they will integrate Kuminga into a full-time role or if the player would seek another team to utilize his talents.
