Shooting guard Tyler Herro has only played in the first game of the Miami Heat's spectacular postseason run after sustaining a right-hand fracture in Game 1 of their first-round matchup against the Milwaukee Bucks.

The sweet-shooting guard reportedly ramped up his workouts and physical activity, anticipating a return in Game 3 of the 2023 NBA Finals in Miami.

However, a report from ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski mentioned that Herro would try to return as early as Game 2 of the Finals on Sunday in Denver.

Tyler Herro Might Return in Game 2

Wojnarowski added that Herro would test out his hand in the coming days to see if it could absorb physical contact by Game 2.

If not, the 23-year-old will take two more days of rest before stepping back to the court for Game 3, which was initially the slated game for his return.

Herro picked up the injury after diving for a loose ball during the final minute of the second quarter of the Heat's first playoff game on April 16, landing on his hand.

The 2022 NBA Sixth Man of the Year attempted a right corner three after the injury, but the shot failed to hit the rim.

He underwent successful open reduction and internal fixation surgery of his right hand's third and fourth metacarpal a few days later. He was expected to be out of action for at least six weeks.
