Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler is still confident about his team's chances of advancing to the NBA Finals for the second time in four seasons, despite dropping two straight games against the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference Finals.
The Heat once held a commanding 3-0 lead in the series, but that margin is slowly thinning after the Celtics won Games 4 and 5 with a combined margin of 30 points.
Jimmy Butler Vows to Advance to NBA Finals in Game 6
Butler stated that "the last two games are not who they are," seemingly relaxed as Boston crawls through the series deficit, per ESPN.
The former Marquette player said they have to come out, play harder from the jump, and be very consistent. He knows that they're going to win the next game.
"We are always going to stay positive, knowing that we can and we will win this series. We'll just have to close it out at home," the 33-year-old said.
Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra recognized his team's shortcomings, admitting their offense was slightly disjointed.
"We weren't able to initiate our offense, get the ball where we needed it to go in spots where you could operate," Spoelstra added.
Butler arguably had his worst game of the series in Game 5, scoring a mere 14 points on 5-of-10 shooting and 0-of-2 from downtown as the Celtics thoroughly outclassed the Heat in Game 5 at Boston.
The Miami Heat are looking to close out the series in Game 6 at the Kaseya Center in Miami on Saturday.
