The New York Knicks have listed sixth man Immanuel Quickley as "doubtful" for Game 5 of their Eastern Conference Semifinals match-up against the Miami Heat due to a sprained ankle.

Quickley suffered the injury during the fourth quarter of Game 3 after Heat center Bam Adebayo collided with his left leg. He subsequently missed Game 4 due to the injury.

Immanuel Quickley is one of the NBA's best backups

Quickley has emerged as one of the league's best backups, finishing 2nd in the voting for this year's Sixth Man of the Year Award.

The 23-year-old guard has provided a valuable spark off the bench, averaging 14.9 points, 4.2 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 1.0 steals, 0.2 blocks, and 1.2 turnovers per game in 81 appearances in the 2022-23 regular season.

His 44.8 shooting percentage this season is also a career-high for the third-year guard, a testament to his growth as he shot less than 40% in his first two seasons.

He also scored a career-best 40 points against the Houston Rockets last March 27, proving to be a reliable offensive option outside of starters, Jalen Brunson and Julius Randle.

The Knicks are on the verge of elimination in Game 5, trailing 1-3 in the series.

Having lost the last two games in the series, they are surely missing Quickley's contributions. He had 12 points in 20 minutes in Game 3 before suffering the sprained ankle.

Game 5 will be held Wednesday at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
