Trae Young Accomplished Things at a Young Age
Young and the Atlanta Hawks were excluded from the 2022 Christmas Day lineup. He was not chosen for the All-Star team and was voted by his peers as the most overrated player of the 2022-23 season in a secret poll conducted by the Atlantic.
Young's defense may be lacking, and he may occasionally frustrate fans with his shot selection during crucial game moments. There are unquestionably many areas he can improve upon throughout his career. However, ignoring what he has already accomplished at such a young age is unfair.
Young won a gold medal at the 2016 FIBA Americas U18 Championship and was unanimously selected to the 2018-19 NBA All-Rookie first team. He made a strong case for the First Team All-NBA during the 2021-22 regular season and was named Eastern Conference Player of the Week multiple times, among other accolades.
In the Hawks' recent game against the Boston Celtics, Young scored the final 14 points for Atlanta. The Hawks are currently playing a game without Dejounte Murray, who the league has suspended, as he made contact with an official during the end of a previous game.
The series between Boston and Atlanta now stands at 3-2 in favor of Boston. The next game, Game 6, is scheduled to take place in Atlanta on Thursday.
