UFC president Dana White and former fighter Brendan Schaub engaged in a word war on the comment section of Israel Adesanya's post on Instagram.

The heated exchange stemmed on Schaub criticism of UFC for expecting its fighters with kickboxing and boxing backgrounds to be elite strikers. Schaub explained in his Below the Belt show that the distance, combinations, and the head movements in the UFC are completely different.

Adesanya who is among the rising fighters in the UFC responded to Schaub's comments online by posting a video on Instagram. Adesanya who is a former kickboxer is coming off an impressive victory over Brad Tavares at the finale of the Ultimate Fighter: Undefeated series last Saturday in Las Vegas. Following his triumph over Tavares, Adesanya quickly rose to prominence as he debuted at the ninth spot of the official rankings of the UFC.

"Such a fuckin tool!!!! What the fuck does this idiot know about the sport or the business??? @stylebender for u to be listening to one word from this MORON is a waste of ur time. Guy went 6-5 in the UFC!!! The only thing he could teach u is how to get KO'd. Tune idiots like this OUT." an adamant White wrote.

Schaub was quick to retaliate on White's comment, even mentioning the relationship of White to former UFC women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey. The former UFC heavyweight contender is among the participants of the most-watched seasons of the Ultimate Fighter.

"@danawhite whoooooooa look who got a break from folding Ronda's laundry to jump on instagram. Bravo sir. He's right @stylebender what do I know listen to the bald fat guy who has never been in a fight in his life. Do that." Schaub responded.

Schaub Clarifies Statement

On the other hand, Schaub said that he was not referring to Adesanya when he made his comments but rather he is referencing on Gokhan Saki who also fought on the same day. Schaub added that a fighter needs to get a lot of experience in mixed-martial-arts before moving to the UFC.

Saki is a high-profile kickboxer who has shown some flashes of brilliance in the UFC. He scored a knockout victory over Khalil Rountree Jr. at UFC 226 before beating Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic.

Schaub has been one of most outspoken critics of the contract that forced UFC fighters to wear only attires made by Reebok. The former UFC fighter said that he was making six-figures every bout before the deal was completed.
