With OnePlus 3T giving other smartphone brands a run for money, the news about the launch of OnePlus 5 is surely to intrigue the audience. It is touted to be the most awaited smartphone of the year. Although, there were no announcements made at MWC 2017 regarding its launch, speculations about specifications, price and launch date have been circulating on the internet.

Gizbot reported that the phone had leaked online. It was WinFuture's Ronald Quandt who revealed the information regarding the new OnePlus smartphone after he discovered the details of the OnePlus A5000 at MIIT, Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. He speculated in a social media post that the details could be of the OnePlus 5. However, the revelation doesn't throw much light on the information regarding smartphone, but what is exciting is the news that the device will be coming soon.

Meanwhile, in the discussion of when the next flagship of OnePlus is arriving, debate over what could be the name has started. As the last device was named OnePlus 3, it is being thought that the next one will be termed OnePlus4, but as number 4 is regarded bad luck in China, there are chances of the upcoming device to be named as OnePlus 5.

Even before official announcement, the rumoured specification of the smartphone is doing rounds on the internet. The OnePlus 5 could come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor with 8GB of RAM, the storage might range from 64GB to 128GB with expected expandable MicroSD support. The smartphone is expected to run on Oxygen OS, which is based on Android 7.0 Nougat and might flaunt 4,000 mAh Dash Charge battery with 5.5 inches Quad-HD AMOLED display. Moreover, there are high chances of OnePlus 5 being launched with curved screen and dual camera.

Expected to be released between May and June 2017, OnePlus 5 can be anticipated to be priced around USD 500.
