Danny Garcia Next Fight: Floyd Mayweather Jr. Fight Unlikely, 'Swift' Moving To Welterweight, Facing 'Money' In September? [VIDEO]

Danny Garcia is the unquestioned king of the 140-lb. division these days after notching a career-defining win over Lucas "The Machine" Matthysse in September. He has not been able to find a suitable opponent for his next bout, however.

Meanwhile Amir Khan, a man whom Garcia's already knocked out, is rumored to be a frontrunner for a May date with Floyd Mayweather Jr. Garcia's father and trainer Angel Garcia indicated he was displeased with the Khan rumors. "What's up with the champ?" he said. "The champ doesn't even have a date yet."

The Garcias are shrugging off the cold shoulder from The Money Team, preferring to forge ahead and make themselves unavoidable. "Danny wants to make his own legacy," Angel said. "If we get Mayweather, we get it. If we don't, we do our own thing."

Danny had similar sentiments, telling reporters "I'm not chasing any fights. I'm just fighting whoever they put in front of me."

With a lack of competition at 140 lbs. outside of a Matthysse rematch, which Garcia doesn't seem to have interest in, a move to welterweight might be the right move for "Swift" at this time. Fans would surely welcome a runback of his exciting fight with "The Machine" but Garcia said he doesn't owe it to Lucas to provide that opportunity.

"He wasn't the champion. He never won a world title. If he would've beaten me there would be a rematch because I was the champion. I don't got no interest in a rematch."

Should Garcia move to welterweight, a fight with the winner of Adrien Broner vs. Marcos Maidana might be in the cards. Garcia is friends with Broner, though, and seemed lukewarm on the idea of taking on "The Problem."

"At the end of the day, it's a business so any fight can be made," Garcia said. "As far as us fighting any time soon, I don't think it makes any sense. We're both building, it would be under-watched."
