Samsung Galaxy S6Android Nougat 7.0 Update Started Rolling Out

Samsung started rolling out latest Android 7.0 Nougat update for its Galaxy S6 devices. Samsung Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, and Galaxy S6 Edge+ users are receiving Android Nougat update with March Android security patch.

While Samsung was announcing its flagship smartphones Galaxy S8 and S8+ on March 29, its existing users of Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, and S6 Edge+ were waiting to get the latest Android OS update. The wait is ending for those who own the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ in Europe, as written in Neowin.Android 7.0 Nougat update began rolling out to the Galaxy S6 Edge+ last week, and now, many owners across Europe have reported receiving the update on their handsets.

Samsung Galaxy S6 update changes firmware version to G928FXXU3CQC2. It comes with various bug fixes and performance optimizations. As written in GoAndroid, the update includes the split-screen multitasking, customizable quick settings, enhanced notifications and improved Google keyboard.Users can double tap on the Recent Button to switch between the two recent apps. Along with all these features, the update also comes with March Android Security patch.

Samsung launched Galaxy S6 phones two years back with Android 5.1 Lollipop OS and currently, it runs Android Marshmallow OS. Now, Android Nougat update is rolling out in Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ handsets around the world. The update might take some time to reach to eligible Samsung Galaxy S6 handsets as it is an OTA (over-the-air) update.

The Android 7.0 Nougat update is more than 1 GB in size so it might take some time. Users are recommended to charge their phones at least 50 percent before an update. It is also preferable to download an update on Wi-Fi network. In case the update does not show up automatically, then users need to go to Settings > About Phone > Software Update.
