Sergio Llull Aware That Houston Rockets Is Watching Him But Opts To Stay With Real Madrid

Real Madrid's Sergio Llull has been featured these past weeks by converting bail-out shots from Steph Curry range and, just recently, burying the game winner against bitter rival Barcelona in Liga Endessa. Now, he disclosed his connection with the Houston Rockets since the NBA is on the tail end of its regular season.

In his interview with Greece's Cosmote TV's "Pick 'N Roll", Eurohoops wrote that the 29-year old Spanish guard's decision of staying in his home country and play competitive basketball is purely his. His choice of not playing in the NBA, according to him, is just following where he feels like he's at home.

"Real has made a great effort in keeping me, plus the fans show me lots of love every day and that's important to me," said the 6-foot-4 sniper. He also added that everybody should be where they thing they will be happy. That's why he chose to be in his country's capital.

Llull, who also plays with their country's national team, revealed that his decision to stay in Europe has the blessing of the Rockets. The Palma de Mallorca native was drafted by the Denver Nuggets as their 34th pick in the 2009 NBA draft but shipped his rights to the Rockets for reportedly $2.25 million, the highest among among the second-rounders.

"It's obvious that they watch my games and it's normal to want me to play there but they have always been respectful and I thank them for that," said Llull. He also expressed his gratitude to the team as they are not putting pressure on him and, in fact, they are very supportive of his decisions.

Sports World News reported last week that another European prospect opened his doors in playing in the NBA. Serbian guard Milos Teodosic, who currently plays in Russia with CSKA Moscow, said that he is "seriously thinking" of making the jump to the big league but teams need to meet his competitive and financial demands.
