With Chris Bosh appearing as one of the analyst in the "Players Only" segment in TNT during games, he is still an integral piece of the Miami Heat though he has not played a single game since September 2016. His purpose, however, isn't something that will be seen on the stats sheet.

Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald wrote that the 35-38 Miami is delaying the release of the 6-foot-11 forward and is still part of the team's active roster as also seen at the ESPN site. According to Jackson's sources, they may be using him for the future of the team.

Despite not playing a single game, the team is still considering that the Toronto Raptors' 4th pick in 2003 draft could still attract other teams. Along with the thinking that other teams who are in need of a big man who can play both four and five positions with a solid perimeter touch, they are also hoping that those teams who will be interested will offer them players that the team will be needing.

Forbes also pointed out that the Heat owe Bosh $76 million for the remainder of the season as part of the $118.7 million contract that he signed in July 2014 that is good for 5 years. With Bosh's absence, Hassan Whiteside and James Johnson saw their careers blossom under coach Erik Spoelstra.

With the 33-year old Bosh still unable to play as he has yet to get a clearance from the doctor and was also not allowed by the management to play. There were also previous reports, such as the report from Business Insider that Heat president Pat Riley believed that the career of Bosh with the team is already over.

Just last month, Bosh joined the "Players Only" segment on TNT with fellow NBA playeres Baron Davis, Kevin Garnett, Chris Webber and Isiah Thomas. As defined by the NBA, they will be giving out insights on the games during the gaps before both the second quarter and the fourth quarter at a players' perspective.
