The New England Patriots are clearly the biggest winners in this year's off-season. From free agent signings to trades, the New England Patriots have added players to an already formidable lineup. Already favored to win next year's Super Bowl just barely a week after winning Super Bowl LI against the Atlanta Falcons last January, the New England Patriots just further cemented their place as the favorites to win it again next year. With players from every position already covered and further improved for next season's battle, the New England Patriots are without a doubt, assembled one of the most formidable lineups in the NFL. The odd man out in the New England Patriots roster, it seems, is unrestricted free agent running back LeGarrette Blount.

As Mike Reiss of ESPN reports, LeGarrette Blount's stint with the New England appears to be over as the New England Patriots and LeGarrette Blount couldn't agree to get a deal done. The New England Patriots and LeGarrette Blount did discuss a possible deal but both sides couldn't come to an agreement.

LeGarrette Blount, 30, was a vital cog in the New England Patriots Super Bowl XLIX and Super Bowl LI victories. Being the only power runner in the New England Patriots running back corps, quarterback Tom Brady often relied on LeGarrette Blount for rushing yards.

Last season, LeGarette Blount has one of his best seasons of his NFL career as he tallied 18 rushing touchdowns. Apparently, that wasn't enough for other NFL teams to consider signing LeGarrette Blount.

While LeGarrette Blount remains a free agent, the New England Patriots signed running back Rex Burkhead, as reported by CBS Boston. Rex Burkhead joins Dion Lewis, James White and D.J. Foster in the New England Patriots' backfield for next season.

The signing of Rex Burkhead definitely leaves LeGarrette Blount as the odd man out. There is still, however, a slim chance that LeGarrette Blount returns to the New England Patriots.

While Rex Burkhead, Dion Lewis, James White and D.J. Foster are excellent running backs, none of them are power runners like LeGarrette Blount. If LeGarrette Blount is still available, the New England Patriots might once again try to make a deal with LeGarrette Blount.
