The New York Knicks are once again one of the worst teams in the NBA this season. Like in the previous seasons, the New York Knicks won't be making this year's playoffs. Aside from the usual off-court drama that has plagued the New York Knicks the past several seasons, players and fans alike blame the problem on the New York Knicks offensive system, the now infamous triangle offense. With the season almost over, both players and fans are hoping the New York Knicks coaching staff, led by head coach Jeff Hornacek, would ditch the triangle offense. But, now it seems that won't be happening.

According to a report from CBS Sports, New York Knicks head coach Jeff Hornacek has stated that they would be exclusively running the triangle offense next season and that players should start embracing the triangle offense or else they would look for other players willing to do so. Ever since Phil Jackson was hired as President of the New York Knicks basketball operations, the triangle offense has been the preferred offensive system run by the New York Knicks.

According to Jeff Hornacek, the New York Knicks will exclusively run the triangle offense beginning in training camp next season and all the way up to the whole season. Jeff Hornacek also said that the New York Knicks could be a playoff team next season if only their top three players, namely Carmelo Anthony, Derrick Rose and Kristaps Porzingis would just embrace fully the triangle offense.

Jeff Hornacek admitted that he made a mistake in trying to mix up the triangle with a more up-tempo style of play at the beginning of this season. The New York Knicks only started to fully implement the triangle offense after the All-Star break, upon orders from Phil Jackson.

Though Jeff Hornacek did not mention any names, it's quite obvious that he was referring to Carmelo Anthony and Derrick Rose. Derrick Rose will be a free agent this summer. Carmelo Anthony was offered in trade talks early this year, as reported by ESPN.
