In the past few days at the NFL free agency, players have been signing contracts at a very quick pace. Almost all the top players have signed just after 72 hours of the start of NFL free agency. But, as a surprise, there is no such news regarding the most talked player last year, Colin Kaepernick. One should say his skills is questionable for this silence even though the player is ready to stand for the anthem.

Quarter-back Kaepernick once led the San Francisco 49ers to the Super Bowl victory, recently began a much talked national controversy by declining to stand for the national anthem. He is yet to be linked to any team so far in this NFL free agency. It is believed that some team have reached out to the player or his representatives. But, these news are quiet and no such updates as far as Kaepernick being traded to any team.

Now, the question is whether teams are interested in Kaepernick or not, it can be a no too due to off-field reasons. He declined to stand up for the national anthem during the course of last NFL season. Even though he says that he will stand up for the anthem come the next season but owners of teams may take last season's antics as an excuse and not take him.

Obviously, skill wise there are few doubts over the trade of Kaepernick. His raw passing stats doesn't look that bad but the reality is he has played poorly and compiled his numbers mostly while trailing in the second half for the 2-14 49ers. ESPN ranks him as the 30th among NFL passers last season.

The fact that only one team rumored to offer Kaepernick a contract just shows how far he has fallen. It was five years ago, he was the toast of NFL, having led the 49ers to an impressive Super Bowl victory. He had the potential to be all-time NFL great that time. Now, we all wondering if he can compete at Jets or Browns.
