Following the exploits of Russell Westbrook is akin to watching Oscar Robertson during the 60s. While there are a lot of remarkable statistical runs to view across the league, what Westbrook is currently doing seems to be both unimaginable and unexpected.

Incurring a triple-double performance is nothing to brag about. It is nothing new. However, if a player is doing it consistently, it is ultimately something to behold. The 6'3" point guard from Long Beach is on the brink of averaging this type of efficiency throughout the season.

In early February this year, Russell Westbrook is putting up 30.5 points, 10.5 rebounds and 10.2 assists per game. Thanks to Durant's departure, Westbrook is doing it all for his team. What makes his run outstanding is the fact that this approach has never been done in more than half a century.

When the Big "O" is still piling those kinds of numbers in the past, the game is still evolving. There is only a low key reception to what he has done. Around that time, Robertson has been averaging 30.8 points, 12.5 rebounds and 11.4 assists for the Cincinnati Royals that will go on to finish 43-37 in the regular season.

Although Russell Westbrook is on track to replicate Robertson's accomplishments, the numbers of the Big "O" seems to be unmatchable. However, statistics have shown that the difference leans on some factors.

For instance, the Cincinnati guard has played 10 more minutes than Westbrook. The Royals are the quicker squad with 124.9 possessions per game against Oklahoma's 97.7. More importantly, Robertson has a higher shooting percentage with 47.8 compared to the Thunder point guard who has 42.

Still, Russell Westbrook is on pace to crack Robertson's total triple-doubles in one year. As of March 6, 2017, the Thunder star has 31 and needs 11 more to surpass the record. His chance of doing that is actually high at 60 percent.

With the triple-double performance being highlighted, it is essential to note that Westbrook's feats are usually associated with an Oklahoma win. It is a huge reason why the Thunder is in the top 8 bracket of the Western Conference. When a triple-double is incurred, the Billy Donovan-coached squad has a high 0.806 victory percentage. That puts the club's overall chances of a triumph at 0.553 rating.
