Google Nexus 6P users will have something to cheer about again this month. Recent reports are saying that Vodafone will release the latest security patch for the said device and it could be coming this week. So how will this new update benefit the device consumers?

Google Nexus 6P or Nexus 6P is developed and marketed by Google and manufactured by Huawei. It is the successor of the Nexus 6 and part of the Nexus line of Google that was released on September 29, 2015 along with Nexus 5X.

Since its release, the device went through some physical and technical issues such as the glass display, microphone problems, Bluetooth and connectivity issues among others just like any other smartphones. But the Google Nexus 6P surpass all this predicament as Google continue to roll out the said device.

Now, the Google Nexus 6P will have another update coming to this week. According to GSMArena, the latest Android security patch for Nexus 6P will roll out beginning tomorrow, March 7 onwards. The new patch will have a build number of N4F26T and 39MB in size.

The update will be released by Vodafone in three phases in which 10,000 Google Nexus 6P smartphones will be selected randomly and will get the patch until March 10. The 10% left of the remaining Nexus 6P will receive the update each day in the following 10 days.

Nashville Chatter further added that aside from the Google Nexus 6P, all other devices that are under Google will also be receiving the said update. It means that gadgets like Nexus 5X, Pixel C tablets, Pixel and Pixel XL phones will be getting the same security patch this month. Those devices that will be selected will also receive an OTA notification just like the previous procedure.

However, Google Nexus 6P that is running under the Android 7.1.2 Nougat OS that is part of the beta program will not be part of the incoming update as it is still currently being tested. It is also not surprising that Google is releasing this monthly security patches as it is always been doing for almost a year now.

Starting tomorrow, Google Nexus 6P user can expect the update once the notification was received. For those Nexus 6P consumer who can wait, they can manually check the update by going to Settings > About Device > System updates and see if the patch is ready.
