Jamaal Charles is the subject of online news as of this moment. Latest news is saying that he was released by the Kansas City Chiefs yesterday making him a free agent. Now, reports are spreading that he could possibly head to the Philadelphia Eagles next season.

Jamaal Charles is regarded as one of the best players having been played for the Kansas City Chiefs. Drafted by the Chiefs in 2008 as their 73rd pick in the third round, he learned to developed his special skills and made a name for himself having on Chief's roster for nine seasons. And proof to that is the accolades he received during that period.

Jamaal Charles was a four-time Pro Bowler, a two-time First-team All-Pro and a one-time Second-team All-Pro. He was also an NFL rushing touchdown leader in 2013 together with Seattle Seahawks' Marshawn Lynch. However, the Kansas City Chiefs decided to let him go even with all this recognition.

According to NFL.com, the Kansas City Chiefs confirmed the release of Jamaal Charles on Tuesday after playing nine seasons with the team. This will be the first time for the 30-year old running back to test the water of free agency market. Chiefs general manager John Dorsey and coach Andy Reid expressed the similar feeling about letting Charles go but the team must move on without him.

Jamaal Charles career was stained by injuries the last two seasons resulting in a big dip in his performance together with his trade value. Aside from that, the Kansas City Chiefs have a crowded backfield options in Spencer Ware, Charcandrick West and C.J. Spiller, making Charles dispensable on their roster.

But it seems like he got a possible suitor already. According to ESPN, Jamaal Charles could be a viable option for the Philadelphia Eagles considering that they need to rebuild on several positions for next season. And with under $10 million in cap space this year, Charles is very much affordable for the Eagles as he set to receive a little more than $6 million this season.

Aside from that, Eagles head coach Doug Pederson was Jamaal Charles' former offensive coordinator in Kansas City for three seasons and he will perfectly fit Pederson's system with ease. Coach Pederson could use Charles to boost the Eagles' thin backfield with only Wendell Smallwood and Darren Sproles as the two remaining holdovers on the spot.
