News about LT Russell Okung starts to heat up after reports have spreads that the Denver Broncos already release him and subsequently became a free agent. With that, news is spreading that he might possibly head to the Seattle Seahawks next season.

The Seahawks had a great performance last season as they lead the NFC West with a 10-5 win-loss record and was able to secure the third seed of the NFC division. They were able to hurdle the Detroit Lions in a wild-card playoff but was eventually booted out by the Atlanta Falcons in the NFC Divisional playoffs. And to make up for it, they are said to be actively looking on the trade market for a potential target to bolster their lineup.

On the other hand, Russell Okung was originally drafted by Seattle Seahawks in 2010 as their sixth overall pick in the first round. After playing for six seasons with the Seahawks, he decides not to sign with them and joined the Denver Broncos last year. However, it seems that things didn't go well with the Broncos as he's not been a factor for them.

And now, reports are spreading that he is a free agent again for two successive years after the Denver Broncos drop him on their roster. According to FOXSports, the Broncos decides not to exercise their four-year, $48 million team option to LT Russell Okung after playing for the team for only one season.

The Broncos was very disappointed with how Russell Okung played during their offensive sets as he struggled in pass blocking. Now that the Broncos released him, Okung is only assured to take $5.2 million, his salary last year, after negotiating his contract with the Broncos all by himself. But it looks like there is still hope for him as his former team is said to be willing to have him back.

According to OregonLive, left tackle Russell Okung could possibly have a reunion with the Seattle Seahawks as the team is looking strengthen their offensive line next season. The Seahawks might consider of bringing back Okung after issues on their offensive line last season was evident.

The Seahawks could use the veteran expertise of Russell Okung to reinforce their offensive line and help developed rookie George Fant to defend their quarterback rush plays. Though Fant is a gifted offensive tackle, a little help from Okung could hone his skill even more.
