The Philadelphia 76ers are one of the surprise teams of the young NBA season, winning their first three games including an upset of the two-time defending champion Miami Heat. Although the Sixers are at 5-6, they have performed better than other teams in their division including the veteran-laden Brooklyn Nets and New York Knicks.

The Sixers could make a move involving former second overall pick Evan Turner especially with the emergence of rookie Michael-Carter Williams. If reports are true, Turner could be headed to Dallas to pair up with former MVP Dirk Nowitzki and Monta Ellis in exchange for veteran Shawn Marion.

Fox Sports Ohio reports that Turner, who's averaging 23.4 points a game and has made a conscious effort to drive to the basket more often, is being linked to the Dallas Mavericks who want to surround Nowitzki with young talent as the German enters the last few years of his career.

The report said that the Mavs feel they can make a good run in the playoffs if they can get a young talent like Turner to help out Nowitzki and Elis.

"The Mavs like Marion, but he's 35 and also approaching free agency. He was at the center of some exploratory talks this past summer and isn't likely to be with the organization next season," the report cited.

The same report said that the Sixers want Marion and another asset like a future draft pick to help in the franchise's rebuilding plans. On the other hand, the Mavs want another young scorer to complement the aging Nowitzki.
