The Samsung Galaxy Xcover 4, a "sporty phone" was already rumoured months ago, but the device didn't receive much attention due to the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 fiasco and anticipations for the Samsung Galaxy S8. But Geekbench provides a sneak-peek on the specs offered by the upcoming Samsung device, which will come with Android Nougat out-of-the-box.

Though the Nougat already rolled-out several months ago, there is just a few number of devices that received the update and Samsung hasn't released any device that comes with Nougat out-of-the-box yet. Speculations suggest that Samsung intends to release their first Nougat device in the form of Samsung Galaxy S8. If that is the case, the Samsung Galaxy Xcover 4 may be released together with the S8, or later after its release that will happen in mid-April of 2017, as reported by UberGizmo.

Aside from the Nougat feature, the Samsung Galaxy Xcover will come with an Exynos Quad-core 7570 processor, 2GB of RAM, Mali-T720 graphics, 720p display and a Cat.4 LTE among others. The internal memory would be 16GB, possibly expandable up to 256GB via microSD. The camera will be 13MP autofocus with flash for the main, and a 5MP secondary camera.

The Samsung Galaxy Xcover 4's predecessor, the Xcover 3, was released in 2015. The specs isn't something to flaunt about, but the rugged design and its IP67 certification is worth a shot for those who wants a budget phone with such features, contrary to the flagship device of Samsung, the S line, which is too expensive for many, as reported by Phone Arena.

As a sporty device, the Samsung Galaxy Xcover 4 is expected to withstand water, dust, shock and vibration, as well as extreme temperatures which makes it a phone ideal for travel and adventure - especially for the sporty types. The battery capacity is yet to be announced, but making it 4000mAh or beyond will make it a dream phone for easy-going phone users.
