It's been more than twenty years since Kevin Smith's cult classic hits "Mallrats" and "Clerks" hit the big screen. Both films became blockbuster hits that a sequel to both movies should be a no brainer. But that's easier said than done in Hollywood. Only "Clerks" got a sequel in "Clerks II", which was released back in 2006. Fans want more.

Fans were disappointed when Kevin Smith said that "Mallrats 2" and "Clerks 3" would most likely not made into feature films. Just recently, however, Kevin Smith said during a podcast that "Mallrats 2" and "Clerks 3" would eventually be released in some kind of platform like comic books, according to a report from Slash Film.

In his recent Smodcast podcast episode, Kevin Smith explained to his fans the reason why "Mallrats 2" and "Clerks 3" didn't come to fruition. Kevin Smith has already done some scripts for both "Mallrat 2" and "Clerks 3".

Kevin Smith said in his podcast that sooner or later he would put out the scripts for "Mallrats 2" and "Clerks 3" for fans to see. Kevin Smith also added that the "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back Reboot" film would definitely push thru, unlike "Mallrats 2" and "Clerks 3".

"Sooner or later, I will put the scripts out there for Clerks 3," Kevin Smith said on his Smodcast episode. "A comic book or something like that, so people can see it. And the same thing for "Mallrats".

Just last week, Kevin Smith posted on his Instagram account that a movie is in the works for "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back Reboot" and that he's already working on a script, via a report from The Independent. Kevin Smith also said on his Instagram post that he started focusing on the "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back Reboot" script after the "Mallrats 2" and "Clerks 3" series fell apart.
