John Cena is expected to take hiatus from WWE after contesting in the Wrestlemania 33. Ever since he has appeared in major motion pictures and hosted events as The ESPY's last year, Cena has become one of the most popular athletes in sports entertainment. He will be stepping away from WWE to pursue and complete some projects outside this company.

Cena has been taken of all advertisements for Smackdown shows taking place in the near future, including an important Money in the Bank pay-per-view this coming June, an event which is exclusive to Smackdown. Cena has long been the face of WWE but since the end of 2015, he has been taking time off the company, again and again, to work outside.

He has hosted shows like American Grit which is a reality show on FOX, he has appeared in several motion pictures including "Sisters" and "Trainwreck." Over the past year or so, Cena has hosted some marquee shows including The ESPY's and Saturday Night Live.

John Cena's first hiatus took place in 2015 after losing his U.S title to Alberto Del Rio in an open challenge Hell in a Cell matchup in October. He eventually returned a few months later but got sidelined soon after a shoulder injury in January. Then, he made a brief appearance in Wrestlemania last year with the Rock to down the Wyatt family. Until then, he couldn't manage to make a full-time appearance till Memorial day episode of Raw.

After fighting with AJ Styles and Dean Ambrose over a WWE title for few months, Cena took another hiatus from WWE to take part in the second season of the reality show. He returned back in December 2016, since then he has made history by tying 16-time world champion Ric Flair and carrying the blue brand with AJ Styles leading into the Wrestlemania.

Cena has reportedly received offers aplenty than ever outside of the company, so this break from WWE may be longer than his usual two-month hiatus. Considering how well Cena has been doing in the Hollywood, it is not tough to figure out why he is in popular demand.

If Cena does take a break from WWE after Wrestlemania, not only will WWE have to put on one of its more popular pay-per-views without their top superstar, but the live event ticket sales are sure to also take a hit, as they did the last time Cena disappeared for a few months. He will be in a mixed tag team match with his wife Nikki Bella up against The Miz and Maryse.
