The last few years have seen a slew of superheroes hit the big screen as part of Marvel Comics' movie franchise. These include the ever popular Ironman, Captain America, Thor, and even less known superheroes like the Guardians of the Galaxy and Ant-Man. All these characters look to come together in Marvel's Avengers movies, with two titles already released.

Michael Douglas, who plays the role of Hank Pym in the movie "Ant-Man", recently confirmed that he will reprise his role as the physicist and CEO of Pym Technologies. According to CBR, Douglas posted on Facebook that he is "Getting ready to play Dr. Pym again in Ant-Man 2 shooting in July. Need to start growing the goatee now." Hank Pym was the one who discovered the particle that Ant-Man uses to shrink (or grow) in size and was the first person to don the Ant-Man suit. In the movie "Ant-Man", Douglas' character passes the suit onto Scott Lang (played by Paul Rudd) as they try and stop the main antagonist in the movie.

In an extra cut scene at the end of the movie, the audience witnesses Hank Pym reveal a suit similar to that of Ant-Man's to his daughter, Hope (played by Evangeline Lily). This is meant to imply that Lily will play the character of The Wasp in the upcoming "Ant-Man and the Wasp" movie, set for release in July 2018. The original Wasp was, of course, the mother of Hope Pym so it is only right that Hope takes up the mantle.

The second Ant-Man movie is set to start filming in July of this year so very few details about it are available. Though, the appearance of Ant-Man in the third Captain America movie, "Civil War" was a success as an article by the Independent mentions that some of the most enjoyable scenes in the movie featured Paul Rudd's Ant-Man. However, audiences will have to wait more than a year for another look at the miniature superhero in action on the big screen.
