WrestleMania 33 is less than two months away and there is a lot of news regarding WWE superstars and the plans for them. Here are the latest WWE news and updates for today including John Cena's hiatus, Emmalina's awkward debut, Linda McMahon and more.

The WWE did not want to book him as the champion for the big event because he won't be available afterward. He is set to film his new comedy film "The Pact" after WrestleMania 33. Cena is now officially a part-time WWE superstar.

Fans waited 17 weeks for the debut of Emmalina but the WWE nixed the character this past Monday night on Raw. Emmalina came out and declared that she will now transform back to her old evil character.

According to Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet, the WWE did not like what they saw from Emma during the rehearsals. The producers reportedly wanted the Emmalina character to be just like the Sable and The Kat gimmick from the Attitude Era.

The United States senate has finally confirmed Vince McMahon's wife, Linda, as the Small Business Administration Chief, as reported by Forbes. Senators voted 81 to 19 to confirm Linda as the new S.B.A. chief after being appointed by President Donald Trump.

Randy Orton declared on SmackDown Live on Tuesday that he will not face Bray Wyatt at WrestleMania 33. This prompted SmackDown Live general manager Daniel Bryan to schedule an Over-The-Top-Rope Battle Royal on next week's episode to determine the new number one contender for the WWE title at WrestleMania.
