The Miami Heat is the hottest team right now in the NBA winning 9 straight games. Little by little they are starting to climb up the standings and now 3 games behind the 8th seed Charlotte Hornets in the Eastern Conference division. But, recent reports are saying that they are trying to trade Derrick Williams to keep newly arrived player Okaro White.

White is the new addition to the Heat's lineup coming from their D-League affiliate the Sioux Falls Skyforce. Though he is new to the team, he'd been a solid contributor averaging 4.0 points and 2.5 rebounds in just 15.4 minutes. He is blending well with the team and some say that he is the good luck why the team is having its hot streak.

However, his 10-day contract with the Heat is ending and if the Heat won't do anything, he'll be drop out of their roster. And it appears that the Heat are already on the move to prevent this and now looking at ways to keep him.

According to All U Can Heat, since Okaro White joined the Miami Heat last January 17, they are still unbeaten and it seems that they don't want to lose him. And now, they are said to be exploring means to add him as a regular player on their roster but they have to trade or release one of their players. And it appears that fingers are pointing to Derrick Williams as the person that they have to let go.

One NBA official says that the Heat are considering of trading Williams to make room for White and if the Heat failed to trade him, another option is to release him as per stated in the report. While the report have no confirmation yet, it looks like Williams already have suitor and would like to acquire his services.

According to FOXSports, the Washington Wizards are said to be showing interest to reserve forward Derrick Williams and ready to make a deal to the Miami Heat if ever they decide to trade or release him. Williams was drafted 2nd overall pick by the Minnesota Timberwolves in 2011 and had been to four teams in five years in the league.

The Wizards do need a dependable player at the power forward spot and they could make good use of his good ball handling and shooting from outside. Many believed that he'll be a great addition to the team as he will perfectly fit to coach Scott Brook's system.

Nevertheless, the Washington Wizards have not officially confirmed if they have already talked to the Miami Heat regarding Derrick Williams availability. One thing is for sure, Okaro White have already proven that he can compete in the pro league.
