The Jets are feeling good after defeating the San Jose Sharks 5-4 Sunday night in a shootout after captain Andrew Ladd scored the game-tying goal with just under two minutes left in regulation before netting the shootout game-winner.

"It's a big win, with the way we won," Ladd said per NHL.com. "This should do a lot for this room. We need to win a lot of games to get back into the playoff mix here. Every game is so important, and we can't afford to take any nights off. We're going to need that urgency night in and night out. These last two games have been a good start."

Ladd is second on the team with 16 points off of five goals and 11 assists and trails Bryan Little by one point for the team lead as Little has a team-leading 10 tallies along with seven helpers for 17 points. Dustin Byfuglien (1-11-12) and Blake Wheeler (5-6-11) have also been key components to Winnipeg's offense this season.

The Red Wings dropped their fifth-straight game at Joe Louis Arena with a 3-2 loss in overtime to the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday.

"For us in here it's all about us right now," defenseman Niklas Kronwall (1-9-10) told NHL.com after the loss. "We have to find a way to be better as a team in all areas of the ice."

Henrik Zetterberg (10-10-20) and Pavel Datsyuk (7-11-18) are the top two scorers on Detroit and have combined for 17 of the Red Wings' 45 goals thus far this season while Daniel Alfredsson has 13 points off of three goals and 10 assists.

In net, Detroit has turned to Jimmy Howard in 14 of their 19 games, and he's posted a 5-5-4 record with a 2.74 goals-against average and a .911 save percentage while Winnipeg has gone with Ondrej Pavelec, who is 6-7-2 with a 2.92 GAA and a .909 save percentage.

The Jets will look to ride the momentum off of a big win over the weekend while the Red Wings will hope to find a way to win at Joe Louis Arena when these two teams take the ice tonight in Detroit.
