The New York Knicks were not playing very good in the last few seasons. They didn't make the NBA playoffs in the last three seasons. During those woeful years, the Knicks have a combined 86-150 win-loss record.

This season, they acquired former MVP Derrick Rose from the Chicago Bulls. But they were not doing very well this season. With a 21-28 win-loss record, they are at 11th place in the Eastern Conference.

They could still make the playoffs because the eighth place Charlotte Hornets are just 2.5 games ahead of them. But given the fact that they have Anthony, Rose and Porzingis, they should be one of the top teams in the East.

And Carmelo Anthony's relationship with Knicks President Phil Jackson. Rumors say that Jackson is looking to trade Anthony. And according to Forbes, Los Angeles Clippers has the best chance to get Carmelo Anthony.

In order to acquire Anthony, the Clippers could give away J.J. Reddick, Austin Rivers, Jamal Crawford and a first-round draft pick. The other option for the Clippers is to trade Blake Griffin for Anthony, as further discussed by Forbes.

Griffin will be free agent after this season. And there's a higher possibility that he would play elsewhere. So trading him could be possible. And given the fact that Clippers are still doing well without Griffin, they might as well try their luck in Anthony.

Although Anthony is 5 years older than Griffin, he is still playing well this season. Despite an All-Star snub, he is still averaging 23.1 points, 6.1 rebounds and 3.0 assists in 48 games as per Basketball Reference. He is still playing well at age 32.

Anthony is not getting any younger. Despite his individual achievements, what was lacking in his illustrious career is an NBA Championship ring. LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh, who were all drafted in the 2003 together with Anthony, have championship rings into their hands. And Anthony is at point of his career were a championship ring is more important than individual stats.

If he plays for the Clippers, there's a possibility that he will just be the second or third option. But with the Clippers, he could be more competitive than playing with the Knicks. The Clippers are fourth in the West with a 30-18 win-loss record. They are almost sure of a playoff spot.

Will Carmelo Anthony be traded to the Los Angeles Clippers?
